Accessing the NDIS and becoming a participant

Assessment and planning: The NDIS will review your application and may ask for more information or assessments if necessary. If you meet the criteria, they will arrange a planning meeting with you.

Planning meeting: At the meeting, an NDIS representative (planner or Local Area Coordinator) will discuss your needs, goals, and dreams. They will create a personalized plan for you and determine the funding you may receive.

Plan approval: After the meeting, the NDIS will review and approve your plan. They will send you a formal letter that explains the supports and funding you'll receive.

Implement your plan: Once your plan is approved, you can start accessing the supports and services mentioned in it. You can choose from registered NDIS service providers or manage your funds yourself.

Plan reviews: The NDIS reviews plans regularly to make sure they still meet your needs. If your situation changes a lot or you need more support, you can ask for a plan review.
